I would like to comment on the bizarre deaths of animals, fish, and birds throughout the world, and suggest a couple reasons for much of what we’re seeing happen. I would also like to bring some Biblical passages into the discussion while we’re looking at this..
Since about December 31st, 2010 we have heard and read about multiple strange deaths including animals, fish, and birds. I have seen quite a number of attempts made at explaining these things away as natural, and not new. There is of course also the other side that says it is all man’s fault and we should go back to the stone age to save mother earth. However, in looking at the magnitude of the events, the explanations I’ve read are pretty lame. Even if a handful of these events can be explained away as a simple “cause & effect”, there is still no explanation for the vast majority of them. Here is a partial list of what I’ve found. I’ll do this in brief form to save you some reading time.
- Several hundred dead birds fell from the sky in Texas
- Thousands of birds fell from the sky in Central Arkansas
- 500 birds fell from the sky in Louisiana
- Hundreds more birds fell from the sky in Kentucky
- Two million fish have washed ashore in the Chesapeake Bay Area
- 100,000 fish lie dead in the Arkansas River…covering 20 linear miles. 99% of the fish are only one kind called “Drum Fish”
- 100 TONS of fish dead in the waters off of Parana’, Argentina
- TENS OF THOUSANDS of dead birds fell to the ground in Manitoba, Canada
- 40,000 velvet crabs are washed ashore in the United Kingdom…January 6, 2011
- 10,000 antelope lie dead in Kazakhstan…these 10,000 represent ¼ of the total global population of this animal!
- BEES are dying off in unprecedented numbers…
- Bumble bees have been dying off by the hordes as well. Both are quite important, not only for the honey, but for the cross-pollination that Bumble Bees provide
- Fox News told of 8,000 Doves that fell over the skies of Italy, and all had strange blue markings on their beaks
- In Sweden, a mere 100 birds fell to the ground…Jackdaw Crows.
Almost all of these happened within the period of ONE MONTH! There have been many more reports since compiling this now outdated list.
Earthquakes are something else that I want to get into more—possibly in the next post, but let me give you some things to think about today. Earthquakes by Godly people have always been considered a warning from their Creator. Jesus said this, “And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven” (Luke 21:11 NIV). The growing frequency of earthquakes is ominous and not something one can easily ignore. If one looks at the dramatic increase in the last ten years, it is rather scary! The year 2002 had 21 earthquakes that were over a magnitude of 6.0 on the Richter scale, but there were 168 earthquakes over a magnitude of 6.0 during the year 2010!
The statistics for the geophysical activity on earth is quite surprising and most people aren’t really aware of what is happening. In the next post I will go into much more detail describing some of the major changes in process. There are all the signs of impending cataclysm—the kind that will bring about cataclysmic damages to our planet, and well as billions of human deaths—that is Billions with a (B)!
Here are two things I see. One, I believe that God is beginning to release judgments on this earth that have been foretold thousands of years ago. In fact, there are numerous passages that make it clear that it is for our generation. One scripture that comes to mind says this: “I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven and the fishes of the sea” (Zephaniah 1:3a NIV). The kinds of judgments we are beginning to see are clear prophecies, given by the Holy God Himself. They cannot be erased! Our country is sleeping. But what is much worse is the slumber of the Church. It is the Church that should be warning the world of what is coming. It is a great tool in reaching those whose hearts can still be turned before the door is shut. The church however is too content to live on “Glory Street” or “Comfort Cul-De-Sac” and will avoid anything that does not make them feel good. I’m afraid there will be a price to be paid for this. The blood of people that could have been reached if we had not been so complacent and self-centered in our Christian experience, will be on us. The Bible is clear on this.
I am going to show you some more Scriptures that are rather pointed in giving God’s opinion, as well as foretelling His actions in these last days.
In Isaiah 24: 1-6, it says this: “See, the LORD is going to lay waste the earth and devastate it; He will ruin its face and scatter its inhabitants—it will be the same for priest as for people, for master as for servant, for mistress as for maid, for seller as for buyer, for borrower as for lender, for debtor as for creditor. The earth will be completely laid waste and totally plundered. The Lord has spoken this word. The earth dries up and withers, the world languishes and withers, the exalted of the earth languish. The earth is defiled by its people; they have disobeyed the laws, violated the statutes and broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore a curse consumes the earth; its people must bear their guilt.”
Much is said in this passage and what follows it, but it is quite obvious that God is referring to something beyond the normal “raining on the just and the unjust”. What we are now seeing is becoming pretty heavy stuff. It is clear that God’s judgments cross all lifestyles and classes of people, whether they are the wealthy and powerful, or those sweating out each meal, wondering where it is going to come from.
Toward the end of the chapter we find a description of some catastrophic events coming on this planet. These events have the earth splitting in numerous locations, and reeling like a drunkard. It also says the earth will sway like a hut in the wind! Now picture this for yourself! I happen to believe that God speaks with great clarity and He intends us to expect these things to be very literal. If we try and explain this away symbolic language, we will find ourselves horrified when we find that we were wrong.
When God says something, He means business, He always has, and the human race has arrived at the time when our human rebellion against Him as Creator has brought about the beginning of sorrows that the Bible speaks of. We are facing the time of the Great Tribulation spoken of in God’s Word. We can try and ignore it all, but that is not going to stop it.
This brings me to my second thought. I would like to direct you to a New Testament scripture first that is an eye-opener. In Romans 8: 18-22 it says this: “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.”
There are some pretty interesting things said in this passage. One says that what we are going through here is not worth comparing to what God has planned for us. We can’t even imagine!
Then it says that the creation is waiting in eager expectation for the revelation of the true sons of God to be revealed! I’m afraid that most “religious” people, even those in Christian churches who enjoy great pride of position or status in the church have no part with those that are considered the “true sons of God”. It’s well worth digging into what this really means! It’s an eternal issue.
Then it says something even more extraordinary. It says that the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the One who subjected it—in other words, creation’s Creator. It was done for a reason and as a result of the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. The creation that God had presented to mankind was nothing like it is today! NOTHING! It’ll be interesting to see it when it has been restored and is ruled by the KING of Kings along with “true sons of God”.
Could it be that the creation itself is rebelling against its human guests? Mankind had been designed to walk with God and take care of this earth. Everything had been put under the control of Adam and Eve. When they fell, the creation itself experienced the results of that fall as well. Now after these thousands of years, it is almost like creation itself is saying, “Enough!” I know that sounds off the wall, but think of this. God is the author of life. I believe that everything He created has life in it, of some kind. I think it’s interesting that Jesus spoke of the rocks themselves crying out at one point, yet rocks are an inanimate object. What would cause part of God’s inanimate creation to cry out? This is something we’ll look at more as we go along.
Another scripture needing to be included here is the Olivet Discourse. For those not familiar with it, it is the passage of scripture where Jesus spent a considerable amount of time answering the questions presented by the disciples about the end times. It is found in both the books of Matthew and Luke in the Scriptures. I’ll bring this up in the next post when I begin to describe in some detail how Jesus’ statements are in process of being fulfilled today. You might be surprised!
Keep your eyes open, stay prayed up, see to it that you are gathering a good supply of extra provisions, and keep your seat belts buckled.
I warned that 2010 would be a year like none other, and that is what we got. The numbers and statistics are proof. I did expect us to experience a devastating event of some type before the year was over, and we haven’t seen this yet. We have however been hit with an onslaught of record breaking weather events. For those of us that have missed this because of where we happen to live, we may not see them as serious as those that have been in the middle of it all. We have seen disaster after disaster. They will continue, and their intensity will increase. Yet, the events of 2010 will pale next to what we have coming in 2011.
It seems that the government of the United States is expecting some extreme events. I won’t go into detail in this post but will in one of the next two posts.
So, what do we do?
Keep Looking Up!
Jake
Just wanted to make it public, that you, Jake, have helped me, and hopefully many others will also receive a blessing from your work. Last night my personal life was spoken to in the Living Version (I crossed it with the 1611 version also), but anyhow, what I would like to say in my own words to the many that are so caught up in the problems and cares of THIS world is in Luke 21:34-36 If you fit in and look like “the rest of the world”, it might be time to do an overhaul on your life.
