Those who read the Mideast Update written nearly on a weekly basis will be aware that there is a very important Muslim religious observance coming at the end of August. This is a yearly event and is called, Eid al-Adha, meaning, “Festival of Sacrifice.” It is the second of two important religious holidays celebrated by Muslims worldwide each year. For the sake of time, I won’t go into all the details of what the Festival of Sacrifice is all about, other than to say that it is a celebration of the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his promised son as an act of submission to God’s command, before God through his angel intervened. Muslims of course believe that the son that Abraham was willing to sacrifice was Ishmael, not Isaac, as God has had recorded in His Word. The Eid al-Adha is a four day celebration and involves an animal sacrifice required of all Muslims. This time of sacrifice is on a specified day following the pilgrimage to Mecca, called “the Hajj”, made each year by millions of Muslims from all around the world.
As I write this special report, it is the 26th of August, 2017. Because these special Muslim religious events are of such importance to Muslims, and because the Muslim people at these times are especially open to the Good News about Jesus Christ, the House of Blessing missionaries have put great effort into evangelism during this time. God has ALWAYS given them special favor at these times and the harvest of souls has always been astounding.
In order to make the most of the opportunity available this year, 1,500 Bibles have been printed into Arabic ahead of time and are needing to be picked up for distribution among the hundreds of House of Blessing missionaries that will be evangelizing. The problem is, their cash flow has nearly come to a standstill. I have periodically stated that I am not a fundraiser, but after having written the HOB Mideast Updates for over five years, I know the need is genuine and time is of the essence. I have made provision through my PayPal account to get funds to the ministry of the House of Blessing as it comes in. (See the PayPal button at the bottom of this article). 100% of the funds are used by the missionaries. The House of Blessing has no paid staff.
What if this is the last opportunity to make the most of this kind of harvest before our Lord calls us home? Could it be so? I am convinced we are at that point in God’s timeline. One thing is for sure, with all of the violence going on in the Middle East, and with a major regional conflict–if not World War 3 itself almost a surety, possibly sooner than most of us can imagine, many of the people that the HOB missionaries want to be sharing the love of God with will not have another opportunity like now. This is not sensationalism. Here are a couple Scriptures that the Lord put on my heart as I was made aware of the situation today:
And do this, knowing the time that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand…Romans 13:11-12a
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:10
Throughout church history, churches that were better off financially always provided much needed help to those that were lacking. This is consistent with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And, to be truthful, the Christian Church in the West has been blessed with an abundance the rest of the world has rarely seen. At a time when we can see the Day of the Lord swiftly approaching; the galloping of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse almost audible as they prepare for their last stampede around this fallen world, and at the same time knowing that the Lord is about to descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the great trumpet of God about to sound, we know we are at the last dash to the finish line and must give it out all! Saying all this…just to say our brethren on the front lines in the Middle East are without the means they so desperately need, and they need help from those of us that have been so magnificently blessed by the Lord. Please ask the Lord what He would have you do today. We will all be astonished at how lavishly God rewards those whose hearts are in tune to His call in this short sojourn of ours in this world, and at such a crucial time.
Thank you and may the Lord continue to bless you all abundantly! We serve a good God!
Forever in His Service,
Jake Geier
