Second Seal: Spirit of Violence and Bloodshed—Revelation 6:3-4
3 When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come and see.” 4 Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one that sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another, and there was given to him a great sword.
The fiery Red Horse and Rider of the Second Seal have two agendas: to take peace from the earth and cause people to violently, brutally murder each other. The rider was given a great sword.
History is full of wars, and of course there have been an abundance of wars before Christ came to earth 2,000 years ago. It is interesting, however, to note the increase in wars as we look at the statistics starting in the first century AD until the present day. There have been approximately 1,200 wars since the beginning of the first century AD.
- 1 AD to 500 AD: 42 wars
- 500 AD to 1000 AD: 43 wars
- 1000 AD to 1500 AD: 109 wars
- 1500 AD to the present: approximately 900 wars, and counting…
World War 1 was supposed to be the war that ended all wars because the world had never seen such destruction and carnage from any previous war. The known dead totaled at least 22 million. Unfortunately, less than 20 years later, World War 2 erupted. The death total between soldiers and civilians in WW2 was somewhere between 70 and 85 million souls. After the devastation experienced by the two world wars of the 20th century, one would like to think there would not be another world war, but the Bible tells us otherwise. Some theologians believe the opening of the sixth trumpet judgment late in the seven years of the Apocalypse detailed in the Book of Revelation results in WW3. Personally, I believe it may happen sooner than that. I will share my reasoning a bit later in this series.
Along with the hundreds of wars and resulting casualties, there is the second part of the Red Horse Rider’s agenda. The description given is of a special kind of demonic violence (brutality / torture) seemingly, without conscience. The Greek word used in verse 4 carries the connotation, “to butcher.” This connotation of the Greek word “to kill”, as used in verse 4 above, is only used 10 times out of the 82 times that “to kill” is used in Scripture. Nero’s “butchery” is an example. He killed Christians in the most brutal ways and did it for “sport.’ We have some of the most horrendous details recorded throughout history of this same “butchery”, for instance, the Crusades, the Inquisition, and ethnic wars which have raged for centuries. An excellent record of the unthinkable atrocities Christians have gone through over the centuries is found in Foxe’s Book of Martyrs.
Not all the viciousness came as a result of religious persecution. Much of it manifested itself through ethnic wars. One example of horrific ethnic cleansing only decades ago was during the dictatorship of Idi Amin in Uganda with the slaughter of 300,000 to 500,000. It finally came to an end in 1979 when he was overthrown and forced out of the country. Another example was the attempted genocide of the minority Tutsi tribe by the majority Hutu’s in Rwanda. This ethnic war began on April 7th, 1994 and lasted approximately 100 days. By the time it was over, the Hutu-controlled government and its allied militias had slaughtered between 800,000 and one million Tutsi’. About 100,000 Hutus were also killed.
Historical records also tell us of the horrors experienced by the Jews in Nazi Germany in which approximately 6 million Jewish men, women, and children were slaughtered in just a handful of years. Those who are familiar with the WW2 era will also have some knowledge of the murder of 20-40 million people by the Soviet Union’s brutal communist dictator, Josef Stalin. Also in the 20th century, Chairman Mao Tse Tung of China earned his reputation of brutality being responsible for possibly more people killed under his tyranny than anyone in history up to that time. The final death tally of his own people is not really known for sure, but estimates are somewhere between 60 and 90 million—with some estimates higher yet. Hitler, Stalin, Chairman Mao were only three despots of a long historical list of brutal tyrannical rulers.
As we begin 2023, it appears that the Red Horse Rider is beginning his final run upon the earth. Could we be on the threshold of WW3? Considering the weaponry that is on the table today— nuclear weapons now only rated as #4 of the most powerful weapons of mass destruction in world—experts say that the death toll resulting from a third world conflict could range between 500 million to 2 billion souls, if not more.
Death and destruction of the human race has always been a portion of hell’s agenda. Jesus put it simply: “The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy.” This not only applies to individual people but also the entire human race. Unfortunately, there are many in positions of leadership today who are quite willing to play their part as accomplices in this malevolent plan.
I have no interest in provoking fear in anyone, but it is important for us to recognize that the precipice on which our world is perched today is like none before in mankind’s history. The threat of WW3 has never been greater. The war between the Russian Federation and Ukraine (with NATO’s backing) already has a death toll of several hundred thousand, and there seems to be no offramp from the hostilities. We have powerful unelected globalists in top leadership positions around the world whose agenda includes a third world war, and they intend to see it come to pass, no matter what. While this war between Russia and Ukraine is threatening to expand to Europe and even the United States, China is in the final stages of its preparations to forcibly take control of Taiwan. China has much greater ambitions as it intends to take control of not only Taiwan, but also Japan, South Korea, The Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, and the entire South China Sea, including the global shipping lanes that pass through it. China’s ultimate goal of course is world domination. At the same time North Korea, China’s junkyard dog, is once again threatening to attack South Korea and the United States with their nuclear arsenal—and they are quite capable of doing so.
The United States on the other hand, together with NATO, seems intent on continuing to poke the bear (Russia). This writer is no fan of Vladamir Putin, president of the Russian Federation, but there are contributing factors behind the Russia / Ukraine conflict that are never reported by today’s mainstream media. What is seen as Russian aggression into Ukraine, right or wrong, has underlying reasons that contribute heavily to what is unfolding today. There is a narrative brought to the public that is only one layer of many layers in events that have brought the situation to the explosive point we see today. Many see Russia as having overestimated its own strength and believe that its military strategy is failing. The narrative, however, may change very soon and the “bear” will not respond in a blind rage when it feels cornered, but rather with a lethality our world has not yet had to endure.
For those that might be bored with weaponry details, forgive me but the little bit I have included below is important to the subject. Russia is, for the first time in its history, well able to fulfill its place in ‘end of the age’ Bible prophecy, and whether we like it or not, it will inevitably affect everyone.
The Russian Federation today has the largest nuclear arsenal in the world. Although no nuclear weapons have been used since the U.S. bombed two Japanese cities in order to put an end to the war with Japan in 1945, the existence of these weapons has served as an effective deterrent. Nuclear weapons have gradually become much more sophisticated and powerful since the end of World War 2. According to historical military records, the uranium-based atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima had a yield of 15 kilotons and the plutonium-based bomb dropped on Nagasaki four days later had a yield of 21 kilotons. One kiloton is the equivalent of 1,000 tons of TNT. Many nuclear bombs today are not measured in kilotons but rather in megatons. A megaton is equivalent to the explosive power of one million tons of TNT.
Whereas the United States military has been declining for a number of years now, Russia, China, Iran, and other military powers have been building up. Russia, for example, now has weaponry that neither NATO nor the U.S. have a response for. One example is the YARS intercontinental ballistic missile system, which is capable of supersonic speeds beyond the capabilities of any missile defense system the U.S. or NATO has. The YARS carries between 6 and 10 independently targetable warheads, each with a yield of 100-300 kilotons. The range of the YARS is 12,000 km, or 7,456 miles. This puts all of Europe, the UK, and the entire U.S. within range. Russia did not hide the fact when they loaded three of the YARS missiles into their silos in mid-December 2022. The world was put on notice. Russia also has a mobile version of the same missile that is carried by a 16-wheel, specially built, extremely rugged terrain truck. The mobile YARS, as opposed to the silo version, is nearly impossible to detect while being moved. The missile itself, which flies at over 15,000 miles per hour, or 24,500 km, is highly maneuverable during flight and is designed to outrun or outmaneuver anything sent to intercept it.
Although there are innumerable weapons systems that could we be elaborated on, just one additional weapon that Russia has is their Poseidon Torpedo. Information began to leak out about this weapon just a handful of years ago and in 2018 Mr. Putin formally announced the torpedo system. This is a torpedo which can operate on its own as a drone. Russia claims it can carry up to a 100 megaton warhead. Some military experts dispute this number, but regardless of the skepticism, Russia has just completed the first set of the Poseidons and they will now begin to be transferred to their Belgorod submarines. Each Belgorod can carry eight Poseidons. The Poseidon drone torpedo is capable of going to extreme depths in the ocean and can even lay on the bottom, totally still, until it receives its signal to complete its mission. It can travel at 50 nautical miles per hour (90 km) and it has its own nuclear reactor as a power source which enables it to travel almost indefinitely. Russia claims that it can be detonated near a coastline and cause an enormous radioactive 1,650’ (500 m) tsunami wave that is capable of destroying large portions of coastline and thrusting contaminated water many miles inland. The Poseidon has been successfully tested.
Does the US have new technology? Of course. Unfortunately, however, the US military has been weakened for a number of years. It has been the plan of the globalists to weaken the US to a point where it is not a major player in today’s world. The planned world government could never come to full power with the US as the world’s #1 superpower and the world’s policeman.
The beat of the WW3 war drums has become quite loud. In my opinion, the fuse for WW3 has already been lit and Ukraine is being used as a staging ground for the big event. We’ll go into more detail into how this is likely to unfold a bit later in this series of articles, but for now, suffice it to say, Russia will finish taking Ukraine and then quite likely go straight into Poland. In time, Russia will be drawn down into the Middle East along with its allies to attack Israel as described in Ezekiel 38-39. How soon? Probably sooner than we might think!
One thing that bears mentioning at this point is that it is not Mr. Putin, Mr. Biden, or Ukraine’s Zelinsky that are calling the shots. There is an evil ‘puppet-master’ behind the veil that is maneuvering the world into WW3. The nations of the world are in the process of being shuffled into a new order. The old order which had the United States as the world’s lone superpower, and the American dollar as the reserve currency, is ending. Even today, news has come out that Saudi Arabia is now going to accept other forms of payment for oil other than the dollar. That is major news! Another news item that slipped under the radar is that the presidents of the United States, Mexico, and Canada signed a document on January 10, 2023 called The “Declaration of North America” (DNA). For the sake of brevity I won’t detail the main points of the document at this time but it is a major step in bringing about something that has been in the globalists’ plans for quite some time—the joining of the United States, Canada, and Mexico into a regional power. The end result will be that the United States would cease to be totally sovereign as an independent nation. This union will become one of 10 regional powers spanning the globe. This reminds me of the Biblical prediction of ten “kings” or regional world leaders who will end up submitting their power to the Antichrist. These ten regions are in the process of being shuffled into position today. This is the real reason behind the chaos in Brazil and surrounding South American nations today.
While the above conflicts (Russia / Ukraine-NATO, China / Taiwan, and others) are brewing, Israel and Iran are on the very knife’s edge of a major war. Iran has threatened to obliterate Israel for years but is now militarily at a state where they could actually do so—unless Israel preempts them. It is not a matter of “if” for Israel, but rather “when.” The Jewish State also knows full well that when they decide it is time for the preemptive attack, Iran will turn all their proxies loose to attack Israel. Israel will have to fight enemies on all sides at the same time, including having to deal with attacks from within by Islamic factions embedded within the West Bank, Gaza, and many terror cells scattered throughout the nation. There are many other trouble spots around the globe, including the increasingly threatening situation between Bosnia and Kosovo, but we’ll leave it there for now. Below I have included excerpts from a letter written by Albert Pike to an Italian revolutionary leader by the name of Giuseppe Mazzini. Albert Pike was a 33rd degree Freemason, Occultist, Grand Master and creator of the Southern Jurisdiction of the Masonic Scottish Rite Order. It was written in 1871. Many readers may be shocked by Pike’s view of three future world wars, especially considering the date in which it was written.

“The First World War must be brought about in order to permit the Illuminati to overthrow the power of the Czars in Russia and to make the country a fortress of atheistic Communism. The divergences caused by the “agentur” (agents) of the Illuminati between the British and Germanic Empires will be used to foment this war. At the end of the war, Communism will be built and used in order to destroy the other governments and in order to weaken the religions.”

The war must be conducted in such a way that Islam (the Moslem Arabic World) and political Zionism (the State of Israel) mutually destroy each other.
“Meanwhile the other nations, once more divided on this issue, will be constrained to fight to the point of complete physical, moral, spiritual and economical exhaustion… We shall unleash the Nihilists and the atheists, and we shall provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to the nations the effect of absolute atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil.
“Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirits will from that moment be without compass or direction, anxious for an ideal, but without knowing where to render its adoration, will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view.
“This manifestation will result from the general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and atheism, both conquered and exterminated at the same time.”

I have included these excerpts by Albert Pike to show the demonic plan for the destruction of the human race. Our world has powerful Luciferians in key positions of authority, and they actually think that they will defeat Jesus Christ in the end at the Battle of Armageddon. Can you imagine the hubris of anyone who thinks they are going to outplan, outmaneuver, and kill the Creator of the Universe? Their defeat has already been decreed and nothing can change it. God is always in control, no matter the arrogance of any man, demon, or fallen angel. There is only one true God who is Almighty, All Knowing, and Ever Present Everywhere! He is my Savior and LORD. Is He yours? The clock is ticking…!
As one looks at Albert Pike’s strategy of 1871, it is easy to see the historical accuracy of many of the details in World War 1 and 2, but Pike’s foretelling of WW3 will prove to have some important inaccuracies. Yes, there will be conflict between Israel and the world of Islam, but there will not be mutual destruction. How do we know? Because God promised that He will see His people through and they will play a crucial role in the soon-to-come Millennium. I do agree with Pike’s prediction that the destroyers of civilization will be destroyed. Satan is using the elites of the world to do his bidding, and when he is done with them, they will be discarded like yesterday’s garbage. They will, however, not escape God’s judgment and that is also promised by Scripture. Ultimately, the “true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer” will be exposed for the fraud it really is when our Messiah Jesus destroys the armies rallied against Him at the Battle of Armageddon. The Antichrist and False Prophet will then be thrown into the Lake of Fire and Satan, the Dragon, will be put in supernatural chains for the time of the millennium. The plans of the evil ones can never trump the plans of the Almighty GOD!
In conclusion to Chronology of the Seals of Revelation 6, Part 3, I would like to draw our attention to an answer given by Jesus to His disciples when they asked Him about the future:
6 “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled, for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.” Matthew 24:6-8 (emphasis mine)
Wars have continued, just as Jesus said. But…there is a generation that is going to see, not only the convergence of all the things Jesus predicted, but also the culmination of events that Jesus predicted. We are that generation!
