My update today will be shorter than usual. I do have some new information that I feel is important to get out.
As regular readers already know, there has been a huge harvest of new believers all over the Mideast, but especially in and around the Fallujah area. Thousands of people have made Jesus Christ their Lord and Master, especially in the last few weeks. Classes have been ongoing for weeks now and 320 have come to graduation time.
Yesterday morning I received a call from Pastor R with some devastating news. Brother Omar and his wife were both found brutally murdered in their one room dwelling. They were also robbed of many thousands of dollars that were going to be spent on 2,000 Bibles. No one has any idea yet who did this, but it has jihadist earmarks.
Brother Omar and his wife have been very instrumental in the great harvest happening there in Iraq. This is a serious blow, and taking his place will not be an easy task. I’m sure that Brother Adel will have his own responsibilities increased as he and Omar had been working together for quite some time now. At the time of the writing of this short update, these two faithful servants of the Lord Jesus Christ will already have been buried. In the next few days, I will go back into the archives and retrieve some stories of the past ministry of Omar and his wife and do a special write-up.
Please keep House of Blessing in your prayers as they try and do some regrouping, as well as figure out how to meet the great needs at hand.
I did get word that Sister Mufiedah and three of her widows have arrived in the Damascus area. They are now approximately and hour from Pastor R. The women did find a way to get transportation from the Aleppo area to Damascus. There are apparently some means available, although at very high risk. God however got them to the Damascus area without incident. Praise God!
The threat of a major escalation of war within Syria continues to increase. There are some news sources that have described the very real possibility of a major conflict between a large combined Sunni force including about 20 nations and their armies, navys, and air power–all confronting the Russian coalition, which is in Syria to keep the Syrian dictator, Assad, in power. What this will actually lead to remains to be seen, but it does not look good. This could easily open the door to a nuclear exchange. Putin has already said openly that they will resort to tactical nukes if his hand if forced. Now we have learned that the Sunni force also has nuclear weapons in their arsenal. We are witnessing the fulfillment of many Biblical prophecies that were written thousands of years ago. Jesus, the Messiah, is returning very soon!
Below is what the Apostle Paul said just prior to him being taken HOME to be with his Master and Saviour:
For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. (2 Timothy 4:6-8)
I know that Brother Omar and his wife will hear the words: “Well done, good and faithful servant, welcome into the joy of your LORD!!” All of us want to hear those words, and our time to stand before the King of the Ages is coming very soon now. Let’s all be listening to the voice of the Spirit of God so that we can fulfill what He has put us into this age for. None of us were born at this time by accident! It was the sovereign will of our God! What is your part in all this???
